Five Cocktails to Make at Your Super Bowl Party

Hosting a Super Bowl party is serious business. Like a dedicated football player, you need a game-winning strategy. What will you serve the Broncos fans? How about the ones rooting for the Panthers? And you can’t forget the football-hating crew that shows up just for the commercials and Beyoncé halftime show. Your guests have just one thing in common: They came for the drinks.

Here are five cocktails that Refinery bartending staff developed for the Super Bowl. Make them for your party—or sample them at the Refinery Rooftop, where we will be tuning in.

Cheers to touchdowns, and to glasses that are never empty!

The Instagrammable Cocktail: Martini Thyme

A refreshing, fruity martini that’s not too sweet.

First prepare the thyme simple syrup by bringing equal parts sugar and water to a boil. Add thyme, and let cool. Next, combine gin, thyme single syrup, lime juice and peach puree into a mixing glass with ice. Shake, strain and pour into cocktail glass. Add a splash of Prosecco, and garnish with fresh thyme.

The Sweet Finish: The J.Hilburn

A sweet cocktail perfect for dessert.

Combine bourbon, maple syrup with a dash of black walnut bitters into a shaker glass with ice. Stir, and strain into coupe glass.

The toast to Peyton Manning: Aperol Spritz

A cocktail made with the Broncos fan in mind.

Mix aperol and prosecco into a wine glass (or a collins glass if you prefer). Add ½ ounce of club soda, and garnish with an orange twist.

The Cam Newton Dab: Hot Toddy

A cocktail perfect for the Panthers fan who wants to pregame outdoors. Drink it from a Panthers thermos, and this Hot Toddy will keep you warm even if there’s a chill in the air.

Pour Irish Whiskey, honey and lemon juice into a glass mug. Top with hot water and honey. Stir until the honey is dissolved. Serve hot.

The Beer Cocktail You’ll Love: The End-Zone

A cocktail made for beer lovers.
