Officially marking the city’s last dance with summer, the month of September is full with vibrant events celebrating New York’s most artistic tributes. From soulful jazz to artisan outdoor dining, disciplined dance to culture-defining fashion, here’s our list of five must-do events this September.
The eighth annual Coca-Cola Generations in Jazz Festival showcases performances right throughout the month at Dizzy’s Club Coca Cola. The program features twenty two distinct performances with talent spanning through generations of the jazz community.

Harvest in the Square
Twenty one years running, Harvest in the Square is your opportunity to taste signature dishes from Midtown’s most renowned chefs. The event takes place on September 14 at Union Square Park and celebrates the community’s commitment to culinary expertise.

NY Fashion Week
Hands down one of the most important events in the fashion calendar, September’s NY Fashion Week casts an initial look into our favorite designer’s fall/winter collections. The event walks from September 7 to 13.

Art at the Whitney
The walk-through exhibitions at American art powerhouse, The Whitney, are not to be missed. Hélio Oiticica: To Organize Delirium is a full-scale installation of the late Brazilian artist’s work, playing on the active participation of our bodies to space, sense and emotion.

Towards the end of September we see the return of the New York City Ballet with itsFall 2017 calendar. The season’s pick is the classic Swan Lake (with music by Peter Ilyitch Tschaikovsky), an ethereal and heartbreaking story of love, manipulation and tragedy.
