Located two blocks from Bryant Park, Refinery Hotel is a luxury hotel in Midtown Manhattan’s Garment District. While our home in the 1912 Colony Arcade building gives us a long history, our stylish loft rooms, acclaimed Parker & Quinn restaurant, and trendsetting Refinery Rooftop bar create a fashionable refuge for locals and cultured visitors in present-day New York.
The Marketing Manager is responsible for creating and maintaining marketing strategies to meet
objectives and enhance the image of the hotel. They will evaluate guests’ feedback, market conditions, and competitor information, to implement marketing strategies. The Marketing Manager will help coordinate and execute all marketing, advertising, promotional activities, and social media campaigns. This role will work closely with key department leads to develop creative collateral, seasonal packages, and programming.
Manage hotel’s social media platforms with content creations, coordinate property photo/video shoots, influencer stays, press amplification, and advertising strategies
Organize special events and PR including researching and identifying co-marketing companies that will complement the hotel brand and institute programs or events that will generate buzz.
Create and curate unique lifestyle programming in coordination with the hotel operations team that can then be used in PR articles and social media activity.
Liaise with Sales and Operations teams to develop branded materials and hotel content (signage, in-room TV content, key cards, hotel collateral, etc.)
Manages all in-hotel messaging to guests including, but not limited to: front desk electronic signage, in-room and in-hotel collateral, entertainment guides, on-hold messages, in-room videos, key cards, etc.).
Manage hotel website’s content management system to ensure information accuracy
Assist in managing digital marketing agency (includes: email marketing, paid search budgets and strategy, and monthly reporting).
Develop seasonal packages in partnership with Revenue Management team and work with Operations to execute.
Identify exclusive promotions and local partnerships for guests to enhance hotel stay experience.
Develop and execute monthly hotel programming calendars.
Implement regular tracking to identify results for initiatives.
Partners with operations, F&B and sales teams to execute promotions and campaigns to target in-house guests, local customers and loyal guests.
Support Sales and event teams with appropriate collateral and marketing materials.
Attend Revenue Digital Marketing calls, PR calls and Manager Meetings to help communicate strategies, tactics and measurable results.
Establish relevant contacts in local area businesses, music, arts, fashion and design to develop strategic marketing partnerships to enhance the brand. Facilitate joint marketing and promotional events with these partnerships.
At least 1 to 3 years experience in Marketing and Communications (hospitality industry
Demonstrated ability to develop and implement successful marketing strategies for individual
hotels, including ROI / KPI metrics
Strong presentation and communications skills, proficiency with programs such as, Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Premiere, After Affects, etc.
Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with external and internal contacts (i.e. General Manager, Director of Sales and Director of Revenue Leaders, Owners, Media Representatives, Public Relations firms).
Strong Creative Mind.
Knowledge of social media marketing and content creation in programs such as Shortstack, Offerpop, Hootsuite, Wordpress, etc.
Ability to deliver strong print and collateral marketing materials.
Ability to work proficiently quickly in a high-pressure & fast paced environment
Ability to multi-task effectively, managing multiple projects while being cognizant of deadlines and priorities.
Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all level of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.
Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing
Must be able to understand and evaluate complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives.
Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.
Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information.
Perform other duties as requested by management.
Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper
uniform and hotel branded pin (specific standards available).
